is there a easier way to keep your old db editor info when you upgrade to a newer release of viper? Everytime I upgrade, I have to completely redo my editor ads. kick words, and warning word list?? please I hope there is an easier way that I haven't found yet

well everytime I have replaced the vbot.mdb I have to reload all info that I had put in my db editor. I thought maybe there was something I was doing wrong.. and I guess you just proved I WAS doing something wrong LOL and if I'm correct.. then I have to install the new vbot.mdb to get the proper updated viper to work correctly??

When u install a new updated viper version it asks to replace ur vbot.mdb , then u have to click NO and ur vbot.mdb wont be replaced so u can keep the old 1. All viper versions even the 3.82.5.9 work with the old Database , so never replace it when ur updating ur viper to a higher version

One thing that I have found that helps is to make a backup copy of everything. ;D Make a folder within the viper folder, call it "Custom" or "Personal Settings" or something, and copy your database, Response, Onjoin, Op lists, Spec lists, Kick lists, and vsettings.ini into this folder. Then if you have to uninstall, all you have to do is copy these back into the folder when you're done, and you won't have to reset all your settings upon re-install. Also, this takes care of the new/old vbot.mdb question, as it won't really matter if you overwrite the old one or not when you re-install. -Scorp

You may not have noticed, but when you uninstall viper it conveniently leaves all the files which contain any settings so that when you install the next version it will still be set how you had it on the previous one. If you want to completely remove viper you would have to manually delete those files anyway. Keeping a backup is not a bad idea just it is not essential for keeping the settings.
